While going through my whiskey sour hankering, I tried a few of the pre-made “sour mixes” on the market. These were all terrible and resembled Hi-C Ecto Cooler.
It was decided that a Cocktail Novice Homemade Sour Mix needed to be developed immediately!
What follows is the best homemade sour mix on this blog:
First we need some lemons and limes, about 4-5 lemons and 3-4 limes. Cut said citrus in half to prepare to weeze the juice.
Weeze the juice.
Add 1 cup of simple syrup to the juice and shake. (Simple Syrup = 1 cup water & 1 cup sugar dissolved)
Funnel into a cool old bottle and voila – Homemade Sour Mix
Here’s the breakdown for those in the high seats:
Homemade Sour Mix
- Maybe 4-5 lemons; juiced
- Maybe 3-4 limes juiced
- 1 cup of Simple Syrup
Preparation
- Mix it all together in a bottle and chill (you and the sour mix)
- This will make a decent amount so you can drink many sours
There it is, ladies and gentleman. Short and sweet…er…sour? Now go put it to good use.
